Ring count is the same as it's always been for the past thirty years..but most of the rings I find nowadays are junk ....like this one. Found on the beach in the wet, surrounded by a lot of sinkers.

Harvdog,
The newer junk is getting pretty good looking too. Here's hoping we both get some solid gold soon!
Cheers,

PS Have you found any of the "rings" from the beach seeding tests of a while ago? Wondering if you may have gotten some information on local beach movement from that?

TVR,

This past winter was very mild in terms of storm activity and wave action. I haven't found any planted rings for over a year. They are probably deep down in the sand. Just how deep would be extremely interesting to know.

Thanks for the update Harvdog. Was looking back and saw that some of the ones you did find were high on the beach. A little over a year ago, I found a painted penny and then ran into a guy on the beach who said he and a friend had seeded the beach with about 150 painted pennies about two years before I found it. The penny was put on the beach about 1/4 mile from where it was found.
