I use v3i & Sunray probe 10 dd coil. 2 weeks ago i went to a old corn feild to Detect i turned on my machine it started going crazy tried everything nothing worked i thought o my god 4 weeks old now what i touched the cable on the probe box it went stable for a second so i disconnected the probe the machine was working fine. Got home that night hooked it back up worked fine went back the next day same thing happened. I really like the sunray so i took it to work cleaned the contact switch checked all cables everything looked good filled switch.box with the right stuff rubberised gasket sealent took it out today everything worked fine don't know if i fixed the problem but it works the only difference is 2 weeks ago it was 24 degrees out today was 52 i wonder if the 10dd coil is no-good in the real cold.

I read their could be a problem with the sunray an the 10 dd coil worked fine for weeks just the one weekend it was 24 degrees out i was wondering if the real cold caused the problem an if anyone else had this happen to them. It's been fine since then.

It sounds like a short in the SunRay cable/switch box. If it happens again, bypass the DX-1 and see if the problem is still there. If you get the problem isolated to the DX-1, SunRay will fix it. If the problem is in the coil/cable, White's will replace it I'm sure.

It worked fine with the DX1 disconnected so the D2 and detector were working fine in the cold weather. So the coil and V31 aren't the problem.

Hope your cleaning fixed it.[attachment 219034 Untitled-1.jpg]

I went out today an tried it out for 4 hours every thing went fine. Tried it at 15 rx dis 75 all Metal 75 worked great. Turned rx down to 12 tx boost on still worked good. I hope it was just one of those days.
