Thought I found a large cent at first

It is a complete mud hole around my area, but it is much warmer than usual and I had to get a hunt in. I went down to an area park and I thought that I had found a large cent, but it was completely covered with mud so I threw it in my pouch until I could get home to run it under some water. After doing some research, I found a 1898 medal of the 50th anniversary of Franz Joseph's reign as Emperor of Austria. Surprisingly, this piece was only 2-3 inches deep. I will submit a couple of links in the comments for anyone interested in learning more about this medal.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting to all!

The condition is absolutely incredible for an old find. Congrats.

Thanks everybody! Hopefully finding this piece keeps my streak of finding good stuff going from last fall. I live in NW Ohio and unfortunately the wealthier usually doesn't cooperate at this time of year.
