Pet stores and your vet, can sell you collars, sprays and monthly pet meds. All expensive ! Flea combs are pretty good, dip the comb in soapy water, to drown the suckers, bit tedious though ! Our old puss had them so bad, she was losing her belly hair, family were getting leg bites ! Put a temporary collar on puss. Best deal I found though was cheap at a pet store !

Use Diatomaceous earth in the house, the super fine dust of fossilized diatoms. Puff it into base edges, carpet edges, next to or under furniture. It is not a poison and one good treatment should do the trick. The dust is caught under the moving bits of the fleas exoskeleton, abrades through it and the nasty creature dies of dehydration ! The dust stays in the carpet or fabric surfaces, awaiting the hatch of any nits, and does them in too. Our house was flea free in about 4-5 weeks !

Now for the trivia .... ever had a " nitpicking " boss or critic ? Today's definition is not complimentary ! The term came from way back, when picking nits ( fleas & eggs ) from the kids heads was entertainment prior to TV ! So there !
