Those 10x12 posts

We had some guys saying their 10x12 SEF coils have been giving them troubles or "not what they used to be". I'm just curious what kind of air tests your coil is getting on coins.

Give me the settings you used, RX, AM, DS.
Depth on penny, nickel, dime , quarter.

Just curious if there is much difference between SEF coils. :help:

I don't have a 10x12 SEF, but i have a 12x15 SEF, probably won't be much difference.

My results on coins in the V3i stock coin program air test

Copper penny......8.5"

Dime..................7"

Nickel.................9"

Quarter...............10"

My results on coins in the V3i stock coin program air test With the adjustments: RECOVERY=60....RX=12....DISC=90

Copper penny......11"

Dime..................10.5"

Nickel.................10.5"

Quarter...............12.5"

Did not mean to ignore this thread for the last couple days. I took my 12x15 out into the woods free of EMI and got the gain higher than ever. This was after it had appeared to be losing its null. It may be much more temperature dependent and its hard to keep all the controls in place. I havent used my 10x12 in a couple of weeks because the results have just been too good with the 12x15.

I will say that anyone that buys a 8x6 sef is gambling as I got one that wont run past a gain of 5 or so in three frequency but handles single frequency 7.5 pretty good.

When I use the 10x12 coil again I will post up its specs and depths, its night time over here and I dont want to deal with the bears and mountain lions. They have been getting really aggressive and I have been having to shoot over their heads to get them to leave.

This bear was in my back yard.
