This winter is getting OLD!

March 3rd???? High of 17 degrees with a stiff 23 mph wind. I've had it with this winter! My son came by the other day and said, "Dad, if you want to move to California, I'll go too." Mama is game. If I can get my daughter and two grandchildren signed up, we may do it.

Where would a fellow relocate to in SoCal that would scratch his MDing itch??

A little cold weather and snow , versus yearly massive fires , mudslides, sinkholes , droughts . I'd take the cold.

Dude, you said it! Forecast shows sub 30 degrees out for the next 10 days...mostly teens...we have lost nearly 1/4 of our year when we SHOULD be detecting!
The Wife and I are gonna unload everything, come up North in the summer until Dec, and then start working South...she loves those prospecting shows and would like to go hunt for gemstones or fossils while I detect...we can live in a motorhome and keep my boat up here at my cousins place...I am tired of being a homeowner and wasting Life due to the weather!

Weather is finally turning around for us here in eastern pa. The 12 inches forcasted for last monday totally missed us and after tonight forcast is calling for daytime highs above freezing -Yippee ... and night time lows in the double digits =Yippee again..if this kind of weather hangs around I maybe able to acually hunt and retrieve a target in like 3 weeks... as far as moving south the old lady has been on my case for the last 2 or 3 years but I just cant see starting over in a strange place , finding a new job and the whole ball of wax.. heck she even threatened to make the move without me and this winter hasnt exactly strenthened my position.... keep the faith , its march already , it can only stay cold a little longer , the finish line is in sight...

It is really cold and a lot of snow in Connecticut. I feel sorry for the kids who search for Easter eggs at the White House, because they may have to find them in the snow.:stretcher:

...those hot & humid 100 degree days aren't so bad after all, are they?

i know by mid to late March we can sometimes hit in the 50's here in upstate NY. The problem this year will be the earth. I think the freeze is deeper and harder than usual. Have to start in sunny exposed ballfields ect. Deep woods soil frost can last into May even, boo. Hey Mud, if you get up north look me up Good Hunts All, CO

All the birds are chirping...but they cant find traditional building materials under all the snow, so some have built igloos...If a guy walks outside wearing a wool hat, you get divebombed by them trying to pluck off some wool for a liner..one of them even took my lighter the other day, right out of my pocket! That one is smart, he's got a chimney in his igloo made out of an empty beer can and everything!
I've got owls out on the deck at night, wearing mittens!

You think you've got cabin fever? This is how I'm spending my time!

How cold was it?

It was so cold, I saw a lawyer with his hands in his own pockets.
It was so cold, I saw a dog stuck to a fire hydrant.
It was so cold, we didn't clean the house, we just defrosted it.
It was so cold, Kate Upton was downgraded from hot to tepid.
It was so cold, when we milked the cows we got soft serve!

Keep the faith spring is on the way. My azaleas are blooming. They know that spring is rapidly approaching. I just had to put the picture of Al (Global Warming) Gore on here for your enjoyment.
