Well what can I say, This past weekend I spent 3 days in Culpeper Va. Hunting with 250 brothers and sisters with the same goal in mind, To save some history and find what our countrymen left behind. Thursday night at the pre-hunt meeting we learned where we would be hunting and I happened to win a door prise of a lesche shovel, nice way to start a hunt. Friday was a different story, Tried the Expeditions 4wd out getting up to the hunt site in a soaking rain that lasted all day. About 3 hours into the hunt my F75 screwed up on me, I think the pinpoint switch messed up, I'll let First Texas figure it out if it still don't work this weekend. My spare was left in the room because I had 3 other fellers with me and I became a spectator for the rest of the day. Saturday I took my DFX out and it did the job, I got 4 bullets, some glass from a hut and a horse shoe. Sunday started out the same, a few more bullets, percussion cap and another horse shoe then found and exploded part of a parrot shell I think, I dont know much about shells. They cooked us a Killer BBQ meal and everyone showed their finds for the weekend. Man there was some nice stuff dug, maybe someday I'll get as good as these hunters are but what I got was fine for me. They drew raffle tickets after the meal and what do you know, Ole flipper won a minelab x-terra 30 metal detector. Not a bad weekend at all. Here's a few pics of the finds. If anyone can help ID the bullet in the picture I'd appreciate it, It's the one with 4 rings and the belly base. Thanks for lookin in... Flipper out
