My wife was so gracious to let me have the whole weekend to go detecting! She and our little daughter and my mother-in-law went to the cabin at the lake for the weekend. I hunted about 6 hours on Friday, 8 hours yesterday, and 4 hours today. I know that a lot of you folks find a ton of coins and things in a much smaller amount of time, but I live in a very small town...like around 100 people. It's got a lot of history, and it's basically never been detected until I came along. Almost all the other towns around here have been hit hard--I really lucked out. So therefore I usually opt to stay close to home and see what I can find. That being said, I think I need to explore other areas.
The little fish scale is dateless, but I found a variation (reverse variety RF that puts it 1899 to 1901. My oldest Canadian silver coin woohoo!
Then my first Buffalo Nickel...another dateless coin, although I think I can see 1919...
A few wheats, silver plated ring, couple of 1960's silver coins, and a little bit of this and that popped up.
Then the craziest thing I have dug up yet. The 3 Merry Widows condom tin. When I got home I realized I could open it carefully--THE GOODS ARE STILL INSIDE!!! It's probably 80 to 100 years old...made to be RE-USED...interesting to say the least!
Happy hunting everybody
