The second hunt with my V3i and this thing is awesome. Didn't get much because of the frozen ground, but I only dug one pull tab. After digging the pull tab I rescanned the hole and guess what there was a dime still in the hole. The V3i knew about it I just had to believe it. This thing beats the pants off my old detector. :detecting:

I got 2 copper pennies, 2 clad dimes, a 1958 nickel and a 1956 wheatie. All with a D mint mark. I found lots of hits that were to deep to dig because of the frost, but you can bet I will be going back when the ground thaws out.

I can't wait for warmer weather. I am confident that there will be some silver in the park where I found the dimes.

Welcome to the board, and congrats on your new machine. I just got mine too but I am learning more about it every time I take it out. Happy Hunting

Welcome aboard. Have fun and get out as much as you can.

Went out :detecting: again today. I must be nuts, but I'm tired of waiting. It was snowing and blowing, but I found a couple of places where the grass was showing. I found 1 Quarter (clad), 1 Dime (clad) and 3 copper Memorials.

I have taken it out 3 times now and found coins every time.

Tell me about it. We have had snow on the ground for 6 months now here is North Dakota. And I don't mean just a little snow. Here is a picture I took from my front porch on April 1st. It has looked like this since last November. This is out of the ordinary, even for here.

I would like to hut my own yard, as I have found quit a few Wheaties with my old detector and it doesn't have near the depth as my V3i, but I am guessing it might still be a couple of weeks yet.

The up side is that I have read just about every forum article and watched just about every video on YouTube on the V3i. Now that I am getting to use it, my learning curve should be shorter.

When I retire I'm moving to Florida. The only snow I want to see is in pictures.

What a bummer, 6 months makes for a long winter.

I haven't used my MXT since I bought my V3i about a year ago, it's an awesome machine for sure.
