Just look at how big this Tesoro Forum is. I do read some of the others. Don't take very long either. I come to this forum and I am here all night. What is it with all of us Tesoro Nuts. I think I know. Tesoros are so easy to use and easy to learn. After the very short learning curve you are on your way to finding the good stuff. Even with the little compadre in the right hands will give the so called big boys a real run for the money. Some times at our club meetings some of the rich boys brag about what they have and try to use. In our show and tell table, I love it when I put down the gold. Also the tiny gold chains that they can not find. The very tiny pierced ear rings that are gold. I just love it when I say I found all this with my BIG compadre. Also look at the for sale items. How many Tesoros are their. Not very many. Than the are going the next day. There are so many of them other brands that makes me think, Why spend that kind of money and than sell it. I am a very happy TESORO owner... KEN

Very true Ken, two of my detectors than I like are silver umax and the golden, it will hang with the big boys!

AMEN brother....!!!!! I've only used one machine in my life and that's the one in my signature so I know no other. I did have a guy see me MDing one day and he drug out some fancy White's with all the screens and buttons, etc. He kinda downplayed my GSII and proceeded to toss a quarter on the ground and then started this big ritual showing me the ID, pinpoint, how deep, a bunch of numbers on a screen with the sun hitting it that I couldn't see so we had to move around to see the screen, etc. The whole time this was taking place all I could think of was how many buttons he was pressing and that I'd have had my 3rd target dug by then.....lol

And that is the truth too....I have seen the same thing.... KEN

In this forum the Compadre users are treated like kings, because it is the results that count, not how much the detector cost.

In some of the other detector forums it seems like...........well lets just leave it be.:)

IMHO Tesoros are just plain more fun.

There great, and great service wheneeded, I see a outlaw in my futhure.

you know you have a point , its kinda like digital cameras, now they are making them with 10 megapixels when all you need is 1 MB so do i want a car that has an has 4000 horsepower and goes 200 mph? NO just give me what is good for the job most of the time you dont need all the jazz just basics

I agree these Tesoro's are great detector's. I keep thinking I want to get another detector but then realize how good of a job my
little Compare is doing and think do I really need another one.

I do have other Tesoros. The one I use most of the time is the Compadre. I have a Vaquero and the Tiger Shark... KEN

When the shoe fits wear it, you guys are so right. This forum is great and very inform able, no matter what brand of detector you are using. I have had the great fortune of being able to use many of the top models over the last 30 + years and some of the best times have been with a Tesoro. When you see me in the field you will see my golden umax at my side having a blast.:tesoro::clapping:

Yeah you guys have a very active readership,:clapping: even amongst some of us that have not had the pleasure of owning a Tesoro yet. I know YOUR forum has made me a better hunter with my gear! In the world of archery, you guys would be instinctive longbow or recurve shooters...fast and deadly with little fanfare on the equipment side as opposed to the guys that shoot a modern decked out compound. Theres some great shooters on both sides mind you, but sometimes technology just becomes a marketing gimmick and not a real benefit in certain gear or sports...I've heard the saying regarding hunting and gear, "its not the bow, its the indian" I think in your case its a little of both..keep it up!

Thanks mudpuppy. You make some very good points. Some times it is not the detector, It is the brains behind the handle. Also sometimes smaller is better... KEN

I like technology but in my spare time simple is better. Right now my main land detector is a simple Silver uMax. Adjustments are easy and this inexpensive little light weight detector has amazing target separation and recovery. I keep thinking I need to upgrade, but the Silver works so dam well it is hard to justify. When I get time to detect I want to detect not fiddle with screens, menus, and jumpy indicators. Tesoro does a good job of this and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The Compadre is proof of how good Tesoro's are.

Ken is right about how few Tesoro's you see for sale. That big auction place usually only has between 10 and 20 used Tesoro's at any given time and some of the cherished older ones don't last long.

This forum is extremely active as Ken noted. Why? Good question. I think Tesoro users just naturally like to gab! Something to do with our simple personalities.

RainyDay,, You are so right about being simple. Why have all that stuff that dose not really help.. I had them high dollar detectors before. Could not sell them fast enough. I am so happy with my simple detector... KEN

You can say that again. They all are a blast to use. I like to keep things simple.. KEN

Well, I like simple, fast and light. I hope someday I get the chance to try one out...They sure sound like my kind of weapon choice for the hunting I like to do. At the moment I have two detectors from two different American MFGs that eat the same AA batteries and really get along good. Which Tesoro will fit in with my pack? Light, fast, speed sweeper that eats AA's?
