The place has been really busy this year with a ton of folks swimming each of the three times I have gone there. Most of the swimmers are Hispanic (go figure!) and wear a lot of jewelry. I didn't really get that many hits even from trash, which really surprised me. I went once in the morning and didn't have to worry about the crowd, but the other two times I went in the afternoon. The first time was the day before Memorial Day. The Rangers do not like for us to detect when it is really crowded, so I waited a couple of hours before I got in the water. I was able to get in as soon as I arrived this last trip, but I was limited to the areas I could hunt at first. Finally, just before it was time to get out of the water I was able to hunt anywhere I wanted. Here are a few pics of my finds:
This pic is of all the finds except one...two Mexican boys were following me around and I was allowing them to get the shells off my floating sifter. I had a target and it took me three scoops to end up with no signal in the water. I had seen one of the boys grab what I thought was a mussel shell when I had dumped the last scoop on the sifter. When I really started checking the "stuff" on the sifter one of the boys said, "I got the dime you found and gave it to him" and pointed to his partner. The other one said "I threw it out there" pointing out to the area past the swimming area. Well, that ticked me off no end and I chewed them out enough they decided the water was better on the other side of the beach!!!

This is a bracelet I found with one of the dimes (no not silver) I found, included for size comparison.

This is a religious medallion that I found on a very thin gold chain. I initially thought the chain was broken, but it was just unlatched.

These are two earrings I found, the one flower looking one I think is a kids cheapie. The twirlly one looks like it should be sterling, but I could not find any marks indicating that (darn it!!!)

This was my very last signal of the day with the light fading fast! At first I thought it was a white gold ring with a bunch of diamonds. However, I think it is just costume jewelry.

Same ring with a dime for size comparison. There is some kind of mark on the inside of the ring, but I can't make out what it is!!!

Well, that's it...not too bad, but not too good, either!! I had fun though and that is what it is really all about I guess!!
