Some friends of mine own land on the St. Johns river. They go there every day to water plants, mow the lawn and take care care of the property. It's a beautiful place with all the effort they put into it. Shade, who is named that because it's so hot there he likes to stay in the shade, took up on their property. Has mange, had been hit by a car but not hurt to bad, feet bleeding and was at deaths door. He is a young dog about a year old. The poor dog had been abused but found heaven when he arrived there. They took him to the vet and got all his shots, meds for the mange and a micro chip implanted. They bought a xtra large dog house for him and now he has a home. He has now gained 12 pounds. They live in a condo on the river close to where I live and dogs aren't' allowed . Shade was a little distant at first but now is such a sweet dog. He knows his home and will not leave the property which is about two acers. Poor thing is so ugly he is cute. How people can abuse and then abandon such a sweet dog is beyond my understanding.. At any rate this is SHADE

Pits aren't much for "pretty." As Cesar says, he needs "exercise, discipline, and a 24/7 pack." Hope they can find a spot for him more suitable for a social animal than that. I would worry about leaving a gladiator unsupervised, and as far as he knows, in charge of the place.

We've had a lot of rain and the river is up so he's staying at my house now...couple days only I'm sure unless we keep having rain.. he is a nice dog but wants to eat my hand and arms. hehe I guess it's his nature..

He probly hasn't had much fetchin' up and needs guidance. Watch 'The Dog Whisperer' (Cesar Milan) on NatGeo channel for some tips. He really likes these guys. Google can find him too.
