Had to get some paperwork downtown to my old co. office so headed down there around 7a. Also threw the trusty A T Pro and other gear in my car with plans to stop off on the way home at one of my old and hunted hard haunts. Not great weather, 37 with a nice north breeze and off and on again light sprinkles with the occasional white flake and small, wet sleet.

Anyway, parked the Edge and before I even got around to ground balancing and about 10' out I got a sweet and kind of faint high tone on the inside edge of a small ground depression with a nice 82-84 reading. From about 7" I unearthed a bluish stained 1940 Mercury dime that appears to have tangled with a lawn mower blade. Although I had planned to hunt for a hour and a half, I almost called it a wrap right then. But, didn't. There weren't to many other good targets in that area, but after digging two nickel reading tab tales I finally got a nice 51-52 reading with a nice round thunk to it and recovered the 1936 Buffalo nickel from about 4." Worked my way back to my vehicle and called it a wrap. One of the fresh from the ground shots is with the flash on. HH jim tn

Thats really cool. Motivates me to head over to my parents house and see if I can pull any more old coins out of the ground there. It is really the only place with age that I am able to detect until I get the courage to knock on some doors and ask for some permissions.

Any old parks and 60's era and older schools in your area? Schools are good on Saturday's when usually few or no people around. Or, give your parents next door neighbors doors a knock. You have kind of a in since your parents live next to them. Thanks, and good luck. HH jim tn
