Had to get some paperwork downtown to my old co. office so headed down there around 7a. Also threw the trusty A T Pro and other gear in my car with plans to stop off on the way home at one of my old and hunted hard haunts. Not great weather, 37 with a nice north breeze and off and on again light sprinkles with the occasional white flake and small, wet sleet.
Anyway, parked the Edge and before I even got around to ground balancing and about 10' out I got a sweet and kind of faint high tone on the inside edge of a small ground depression with a nice 82-84 reading. From about 7" I unearthed a bluish stained 1940 Mercury dime that appears to have tangled with a lawn mower blade. Although I had planned to hunt for a hour and a half, I almost called it a wrap right then. But, didn't. There weren't to many other good targets in that area, but after digging two nickel reading tab tales I finally got a nice 51-52 reading with a nice round thunk to it and recovered the 1936 Buffalo nickel from about 4." Worked my way back to my vehicle and called it a wrap. One of the fresh from the ground shots is with the flash on. HH jim tn
