This morning's find was "large".

Met up with Park Pirate this morning for some detecting. After some unproductive hunting we tried a different area of the park. My first signal came in like a deep indian head cent but after digging down a good 8 inches, the signal was still deeper in the hole. After going a solid 10 inches down and a couple inches off to the side, I retrieved the 1833 large cent. Felt good to dig one since it has been at least 5 years since I last found one. This was the seventh large cent I have dug in this park. Some serious die crack or a bad planchant on this bad boy ???

Nice find - looks like it has less detail above the "crack". Maybe a defective planchet. (lamination?)
