85mph wind gusts lower NYC is under water. Coney Island is under 4 feet of water. Forget the Rockaways I'm serious. Fires everywhere and it doesn't look like its letting up. Im hoping my awning and roof hold on just a bit more. This is the most extreme thing I have ever lived through I pray for my neighbors and especially everyone on the Jersey shore. It seems to be decimated. I will through all this try and make it to the beach tomorrow if it's still there. Right now I'm just trying to make it through the night. Peace

I'm originally from Richmond Hill, Queens and went to Rockaway beach on my bicycle. The boardwalk and Playland wow 48 years ago.
I've been in Florida east coast for over 40 years.
This hurricane bypassed us compared to what you're getting.
Here we lose palm trees (not counting Andrew), there you lose everything with the congested domino effect.
Good Luck.
