I went out this morning to a school I have always thought of going to but never had. Well today I did and these are my finds. I had a moment of Bliss with one of my finds..Great signal. big and loud. so I start to dig...i see something shining down in the dirt..I am getting really happy. I start to uncover it and get more shine.... this is big...i pull it out and its really dirty. but i can make out the words CHAMPIONSHIP...wow i just got a championship ring.. now to find out whos championship...i go to the water faucet and wash it just enough to see the words....Sacremento Monarches.. ( They are the local W.N.B.A womens pro basketball team..) I am stoked....I start for home to clean it..I get it cleaned...AND......its a ......STUPID FAKE !!!! one I guess you can buy from the games if you are the ultimate fan... oh well I was rich for a minute. what a rush it was.

Ok so this hobby is to me....not what I find but what I might find and the excitment of it all. what better way to spend a lazy afternoon?

Dobbie sorry it isn't real but it is a very cool find! If your digging items like that then the real one is right around the corner for you, you know. I felt the same way when I pulled some cheap rings from the ground myself and then thought "Yeah but it could of been real!" It let me know that I was on the right track anyways. That thought gave me that warm all over feeling. I real don't believe that those here on the forum who aren't hitting the real goodies (Like Me) are doing anything wrong, or is a lack of effort. I feel it just isn't the right place or time for us to hit yet! I feel good about the few real goodies I have found anyways. Even if they aren't worth a bunch of $. One of my cooler finds in my eyes is a tap shoe tip from the Continental Tap company. Not worth anything but still cool. Hopefully sometime I will hit on a target worth it's weight in gold(HA HA funny that gold word keeps coming up.) But until then I'll keep just swinging and pulling out my treasures for the real prize is getting to do what you really enjoy doing and doing it with the ones you enjoy being with. You all take care and just keep swinging. May the silver and gold run thick for you.

Wow!!!...That thing is HUGE!!! Even if it is not real, it is impressive. Now just remember exactly what that sounded like...

Awesome find dobbie, I guess there really isn't much need to find the owner so you're safe. If you ever have any doubts about yourself finding the real deal, just clutch that 20 lb. Mr. T bling tightly for reassurance. Did you sell the chain? That was still a great find and you're obviously not slowing down to add to that collection. Sweet digs! TC&HH, JJ

PS:(come across any good deals on a new machine to add to your collection yet?)

JJ a friend of mine suggested the fisher F2. but I dont know much about it even though I read some review on it. I think it wouldnt hurt to try it. I just have to get around to ordering it. and which chain are you referring to?

Dobbie, I'm more of a kick the tires kinda guy before I buy. I did buy my BH SSII years ago without ever using a MD, but only after allot of research for that price range. If I could make a suggestion, find a place that rents detectors or maybe even ask around about clubs, or find a detector shop and make every effort to try before you buy. Try as many different brands and models in the price range you are looking at and of course research, research, research. I really cant refer any chain because i'm in a bit of a quandary myself. What i'm looking for and prefer may not be what you're looking for and prefer. Thats why I say try it all and pick your fav, you cant go wrong that way and will be much happier in the long run. GL & HH, JJ

PS, I can think of about 6 machines I would love to add to my arsenal right now, (but my wife says thats not gonna happen, gotta narrow it down!)

wow, never mind i guess. I thought you posted some big gold a while back but maybe not.
