Made it out early this morning just around dawn but did not find anything special. was picking up my grandson. After getting breakfest and droping him off with gandma I got out for a few more parks.
Heres the best thing I have found in a while. No markinga and it is just chain. Maybe somebody bougt a bracelet by the inch and lost both ends. I have to look carefully for the claw or some ends .

Wow man, I've never found something that nice. Take to to a jeweler, they can do an acid test pretty quick. That is what I do on my finds that are questionable.

i have not had it tested yet but pretty sure that it is gold

The first clue is how they look coming out of the ground. Gold and silver usually have a noble shine that betrays their essence. None the less, not all that glimmers is gold and having it tested is the only nearly foolproof way to know for sure. Acid test kits are cheap and easy on line. Jewelers usually do it for free (ask first). The point to costume jewelry is faking the authentic and some do a good job. Congrats on the chain, they are tough targets and you done good!
HH!
