What can I say about Monte? He is like a guru of metal detecting. Go to him with a question and he will have an answer or will find out. He is akin to dear Abby in the metal detecting world, such as Monte - part of an asteroid landed in my back yard and I picked it up and ran to the ocean at high tide in the full moon, but I couldn't get my machine to ground balance using the piece of asteroid. What is wrong? Or will my coil from my Minelab fit my Garrett that I put together with parts of a Whites and a Fisher? He answers questions on almost all the forums. He must get a lot of e mail a week and goes detecting and must have a job and family. He has metal detecting madness like all of us. I saw not too long ago that his son was on the forums. What it must have been like to hop up in that big old car and roar down the road to unknown places where Indian wars were fought and old ghost towns existed or open fields where pioneers rode their wagons across. Places even now I would like to see or detect or in the evening when his dad came home pulling earth encrusted items from his pocket and the telling of adventures. How lucky his son is that his dad shared this with him. I e-mailed him the other day with a lot of questions and he took the time to answer as he always does. So this is to say thanks for your time and advice you offer to everyone. Thanks again. Ohio Fred.
