Hi guys,
I am fired up about my new CZ 3d arriving soon, but still hunting with my other CZ. I went back to a place I have pounded for years and stumbled onto a great new hot spot. Thanks to all of your stories and ideas I tried to take a new approach to the same old place. History says this place was a picnic grove and I have found a ton of stuff over the years. Now, I just go for peace and quiet and the rare coin is a blessing. I was honestly down to one coin a trip if I got any at all. I started down the dried up ditch that runs through the place and got a good signal. It was a token. Two feet, two more signals. A nice Indian and a well worn V nickel. I went the length of the ditch then turned around and started back. I got the dime, the other Indian, and the good nickel. It was hot and I was out of room to hunt along the ditch. I walked around a small fence and where the ditch was so flat you would just call it a yard I got the last signal. I dug and dug for this one. I was hot and I wasn't being as careful as I should have been when this giant green disc sailed out of the hole and landed there in my dirt pile. I couldn't believe it, this is my first, nice two cent piece. I only have one other and it looks like a train ran over it. This one is great with all of the words readable. "We" is weak on the back, but still there. Remember those places aren't hunted out as our conditions change so do our targets.

Thank goodness for people who know what is going on. Just had someone point out that my lowly nickel out on the front edge of the photo is a key date.
I know I was pleased to see a date, but never thought about a nickel being worth very much. Thanks for letting me know. I will take new photos of the nickel tonight.
