This is the fox that comes around every night for food I leave out.

Around Oct. of 2001 a fox showed up at the house. It wasn't afraid of humans or the cats. It stayed under the house and each morning and afternoon I would give it a little dog food or lunch meat but not enough to stop it from hunting for food. Got it to eat from my hand. It loved pecans and apples. When my daughter came home from college for Xmas, this thing wouldn't let her out of it's sight. Where she went, the fox went, walking right by her side. I think this was someones pet and they got tired of it and dumped it at the house as it was so tame. I think it probably was a woman as it took a shine to my daughter right away. I thought it was a male so I named it Ed Earl but found out it was a female and renamed it Edwena. It stayed at the house for about 4 months and finally disappeared. Probably found a mate. It would even climb a tree next to the house and get on the roof and sun itself. My daughter had to leave to go back to college and came over to so called see me before she left but I think she came to see the fox. The fox knew she was there but she didn't get out of her car and the fox jumped on her car and waited until she got out. The fox never allowed me to touch it but my daughter could.

Jeff and Maria, that is a hefty fox. Kind of barrel shaped. Around here we have several that scream at night. They sound like a woman in distress.

Good story ron c. Good pics too, thanks!

They're hiding in your kitchen to get away from the outside preditors. There are generally 2 colors of mice brown and black, one is an inside mouse the other is from outside. I think the brown ones (not shure anymore) are house mice.

They sure are pretty looking critters, but I coulda strangled the one that just tore into my laying hens that were out grazin, and killed two. Guess I was just a little slow grabbing the shotgun, 'cause by the time I came outa the house that 'ol red catdog was gone!
