This is my lucky day!

THIS IS MY LUCKY DAY!
Was detecting a park with a friend, having little success around the playground I decided to go "exploring" with my Etrac. I told myself I would stop when I got to the road 250' away or when I started finding coins.
The open area off in the corner had an elevated flat spot that looked like an old building once occupied that area, so I was making my way over there when a solid 12-40 , 4" down stopped me dead in my tracks.
Well you guessed it, 150' into the adventure, COINS! In a small area, I pulled 6 tokens out from 2' to 6" depth, then I walked over to my friend not wanting him to miss out on the rush in Tokenville. I asked, "You having any luck?", "Very little", he replied. I said come with me, and took him over to "Tokenville"

Like kids in a candy store for the next hour plus, we pulled out 36 TOKENS. I had the most fun in my 12 yrs of detecting and my buddy, I think, would say ditto.
As a side note, halfway into the token frenzy, I found one that said, "THIS IS MY LUCKY DAY" and as I repeated that phrase to my friend, he thought I was just saying that, then I showed him the token as I said it again.
Good luck on your next detecting adventure and I hope it will be you're lucky day <><

Looks like that was a lot of fun - congrats !

Don't think i found that many tokens in all my years of detecting! Thanks for the story too!
You named it right, 'Tokenville'

Thanks for the comments. My buddy just told me that is the most fun he has had while detecting.
The majority of us will not get rich doing this but it sure can be fun when you find something like 36 Tokens. Wow, now every strong 12-40 I will expect a token to pop out of the ground.
Have fun detecting,
postmanpete.

Very nice hunt. Makes you wonder what went on there in the past. Thanks for the pictures and congratulations on all them tokens.

I was talking with an old timer (80's) and he said they had traveling skating rinks where they would put up a tent and then put a portable wooden surface down going from town to town. It's part of the fun of metal detecting, trying to figure out the how and the why of our finds.

Sounds like a Carnival with games was there at one time, or some kid really liked the game room and was disappointed to lose his tokens...

HH,

Well my new found friend, that was your lucky day. I am sure there are many more to come. I enjoyed detecting with you today and I will be researching more sites we can explore south of the border in the near future. May the detecting Gods look at you with favor the next time you visit "Tokenville".
