This is just a question about the law that banned dredging in CA...

Why exactly did they ban it? Was it because of the pollution the gas motors do to the water??? If so, then wouldn't gold hunters still be able to dredge if they used one that didn't use fossil fuels? Like one that was solar powered? Then again, who knows if those even exist yet. Looking forward to an answer.

Thanks,
Roscue2

It's between the Indians wanting everything their way and the Forestry-Game dept wanting everyone out of the woods,so they won't have to do any work.

Hi Roscue2
It's about Fish. The Salmon numbers are down do to over fishing and the hoplaphobes need some one to blame, So the miners are easy targets. The Sierra Fund has a war chest of 100 million dollars they extorted from industry and business that they need to spend so. Oh and the old stand by fear mongering about mercury in the fish caused by dredging. None of which they have proof of, just hoplaphobic hysteria. Alaska and Washington states have done major studies on dredging and fish and found no effect on populations, or spawn. In fact dredging has been proven to help spawn with clean lose gravels used by fish. The dredge cleans the heavy metals like lead, and mercury from the river gravels which improves habitat.

WELCOME TO CANADA BOYZ!! Pretty soon we're gonna conquer you guys, one idiotic law at a time. AAAHaHaHAAAaaa! Next is socialized medical care. ...Willy.

Yeh what they said ,plus its just basic control and politics. They never mention the gold/money that is made by dredging. Curious that little tid bit is left out. They dont want us to make money they cant control and use other reasons like fish to make it stop. And keep us living in the "tax payer and fee areas" instead of the woods making a living off the land.
