I have been using stainless steel media in my tumbler to clean my found chains, rings, earrings, silver finds and coin rings.

Sounds like a good idea, but for me and the silver coins or the very old ones I don't think I would us a tumbler at all.
I found that any common silver coin that has plenty of detail left I just use a little baking soda and acouple drops of dishwashing liquid and my fingers and with a little light rubbing and a rinse they clean up really nice.

Here is one I recently found and cleaned with the baking soda and soap.

Now I am interested in your cleaning media for my clad! where did you find this stuff and how much does it cost?

Thanks for the post.

I also would not clean any silver or any other coins at least with a key date with stainless shot. There goes any numistic value down the drain.
