At least it came after the great find! Looks like a wood dowel is a pretty good addition when making the install.

He did not place that wood peace... and that CF is a bit thin?

For what these CFs cost I'd like to see them included! Light weight is a huge part of the draw to CF so thin walls are not too surprising, but I can't imagine building one without a reinforced base!

Specially if you have to drill hole for a screw...
some models have U shape thingy for grabbing handle - much more efficient and easy to replace if broken
CF is lightweight - compared to aluminum or wood ...

Someone here offered CF with 4mm wall

I broke one a few years ago and by adding a dowel in the rest have prevented it happening since!!

The "edge" at the tube opening on the scoop where the handle slips into the tube creates too much "shear" force and will break down the CF after a while without some sort of internal support or bracing!!

ya they should come with a guarantee for the price they charge . I will keep using wood handle with plumbers epoxy pipe wrap .

in this model of travel CF handle - bottom pipe 4mm top 2mm.

wood vs CF (carbon or graphite) :)
how about older material... fiberglass...

I have been using a fiberglass post hole digger handle in a T-Rex 9.5 scoop for about 2 years. I put a dowel in the handle and so far I have had no problems. I did have to shim the handle to make it fit the scoop. I can buy a lot of those fiberglass handles for what one CF handle costs.
