Hello everyone,
I started detecting with a Compass and then a Garrett Freedom 2, back in the mid-1980s when i was a kid. After a 25 year hiatus, I decided that it was time to get back to the hobby I loved so much.
I've had my Etrac for a couple of months, having bought mine from Mike at Woodland Detectors. So far, 26 silver coins, 100 or so wheats, and $50.00 in clad. Most importantly, absolutely having a ball. In my old age (42), I have learned to slow down, research, and pay attention.... things critical to metal detecting success and not high on the priority list of a 15 year old.
I got an early start to Father's Day yesterday with a 6:30 a.m. hunt at a local Fire Hall. First coin I found was a 1937 Merc. Tough to have a bad day after that.
I don't think there is a better forum on the internet for detector enthusiasts than this one. Genuinely friendly, generous, and knowledgeable contributors. So lucky that I found it, and promise to contribute more in the future as I learn, grow, and discover with the Etrac.
Joe
