A GREAT BIG STINKER!:sadwalk:

I knew I was in trouble as soon as I entered the water. A 2-3 foot chop was running up the beach and the whole bottom was undulating piles of soft, mushy sand. It was full high tide (you can't hunt the beaches in Bermuda between 10 am and 6 pm because it upsets the tourists), the beach was full of volleyball players and the water was full of swimmers who were mostly in the Lane. I managed 2 pieces of can slaw and 5 pull tabs in an hour and a half. Time to shift gears and try some of the north facing beaches because if Horseshoe Bay is in this sad a shape then the other Southshore Beaches will be even worse.

Cheers All,

10am to 6pm sure knocks out allot of low tides to hunt in a month. we have a few local beaches closed to hunting from 9am to 5pm so I understand your situation. As my Grandmother always said ." The bad days are what make the good ones that much better." So hopefully for you the good days will come in bunches like bananas. HH

Oh it moved sand allright, lots and lots of sand moved, probably a third of the drysand and all of the bottom sand moved. The problem is that the deep sand out by the reef got piled in on top of the mine and the lane, at a guess and extra 3 feet of very soft, spongy sand that has been fully churned up so that all the gold has settled down deep. It will be several weeks before it shift enough to make a hunt worthwhile there.
Hopefully, the north shore beaches received the opposite effect, I'll check these on theweekend.

Cheers,
