yellow jackets that is ! went to the park today and ran into a nest of yellow jackets got stung 6 times before I made it back to my truck.Got into my truck for refuge and 6 of them got in with me.Went c back to get my ETrac and it was covered with yellow jackets, had to call the exterminator to get my ETrac back they only charged me $10 for gas,nice people.I did come away with 3 dimes and two Penney's. will try again tomorrow.:rofl:
 
hornets, they nest with nothing more than a small opening with a little trail about two inches long coming from the entrance. Hard to see, and don't forget the nest in bushes or in the trees. Walk softly and scan everything around you. It pays. I usually look out in the woods about 20 feet in front for the logical places, than move forward, walking softly, and then scan the next 20 feet and so on. There are all kinds of fun things out there, from old covered cisterns to copperheads to hornets nest. I made the mistake once of walking down the railroad tracks looking off to my right side, not paying attention to the big copperhead that I stepped on. He hit me hard, but I caught him under the throat as he struck. He missed. A friend was not so lucky and it set him back if I remember about $12,000 dollars in medical bills. Wasp or hornets can kill you just as easily as a snake. Although I don't consider either one threatening, they just are part of the outdoors and we have to deal with it. Bee alert!
