by harvesting email addresses. Many times when you get a "motherhood and apple pie" type message the perps depend on people forwarding without stripping off the forwards. Another is the so called "online petition" or even a "child find" that one is supposed to send to everyone. Fact is that no online petition has ever achieved anything as government and business rightfully places no importance on a venue that can be so easily faked.

Yahoo mail has a program now called "domain verification keys" that prevents a lot of spam. My Malwarebytes pro version will not open a known or even suspected malicious website or IP unless i override it and pops up a little balloon telling me that, then it serves me right if i get infected.

I sure like the Firefox addons such as "NoScript", "Adblock Plus", and "BetterPrivacy" they are excellent in keeping one safe online.
