Third time lucky "Gold"

kris

New member
Last thursday was my third time out in the gold fields with the x-terra, on all three trips I only took the x-terra 70, and on purpose left my SD home so as to force myself to persevere and learn how to use the x-terra in mineralised ground, last thursday it payed off I found one small rough nugget about .25 gm and a specie.maybe with the same weight of gold in it.
I`m working a quartz reef area with a number of large heaps which are full of iron rubish I think some people had been there with SD/GP`s and given up on the trash gee this iron mask is a real winner under these conditions I was running ironmask 1. GB in tracking. sens 22. with under chin telex headphones.
I`ve done a little reseach on the area and found out 150 years ago when first worked the oldtimers were getting as much as 2-300 ozs to the ton from surface quartz reefs so I think it has some potential.

It must be very exciting to find raw gold..I have never seen a nugget
myself, but I would imagine it gets the blood flowing..Congrats on your find...Let us know if you get more.

Well done on ya finds Kris, its good to see you hung in there with the 70 and finally found some yellow. I haven't been out much at all lately, life has been hectic for me having to move house is such a pain in the ass and trying to balance that with work and all is quite a headache. I'm sure if you keep hunting the area you will find more species, I'm hungry to get out again myself and hope I find some time real soon. Keep us updated on your ventures buddy! Have a good one.
Cheers!

Good to hear you got some yellow stuff with the Terra.
VLFs can still turn it on, a thing a lot of people have forgotten and as a result actually walk away from easily detectable VLF gold which is sometimes on the actual surface which PIs can sometimes be totally blind to. Good luck out there Kris.
