Thinking of CTX3030 for Salt water Beach

I am thinking of upgrading my Etrac for a CTX3030...I will be using it for wet sand ( saltwater with some black sand ).looking for gold and coins .Not sure about it as I want to go deep !!!....thanks for the input,,Tim

Best machine you can get for what you are wanting to do. Only a PI will go deeper.

I have seen some videos and true the PI is deeper but I want good iron , coin separation and discrimination. I don't want to keep digging bobbi pins . It seems the PI does not discriminate out iron, am I right ?

Tim I'm on Long Island and recently purchased a CTX. Great machine. Both in dirt and water. I maybe more partial to my Sovereign as I like the tones better but the CTX does great. And yes it goes deep. GL HH Mike

While I've done some salt water beach detecting with my CTX 3030 (It seemed to have no problems to me), I have been very impressed with the depth it gets in freshwater creeks and sand. I've dug a pop can (squashed) at 18 " of wet creek sand and a 2" pipe fence post at about 2 feet (I could measure the post from the surface, so it was not a surprise). I found a buried barrell 2 foot under in dry dirt.

With the big coil it gets deep enough you have have lots of energy to dig that deep all day. It seems to me to be able to detect voids also, but I'm not certain of consistency on that. Digging all day 8 -10 inches on a beach will satisfy your desire for depth real quick.

I don't mind the digging,,as long as it finds coins and gold rings. Can you change different tones for gold rings and coins with the CTX 30330. ?
