THINKING ABOUT TRADING T-2 FOR EXPLORER 2

Any thoughts about this? I mostly hunt coins and jewlery at parks and schools, Will the Explorer 2 do better on silver that may have been missed do to deeper depths? I have also heard that Minelab wont work on the older Explorer models. The weight difference between the two would not be an issue. My back-up detector is a X-terra 50. Thanks Tom
