Thinking about possibly trying a Cortes but I am concerned about the fixed GB in disc....

I hunt in north GA in some really hot ground, lot's of iron and iron ore. I currently use, in this order of preference, a T2, a Tejon, and a Sovereign GT. I am considering replacing the GT because, while it works well for coinshooting, it just doesn't get the job done relic hunting like the T2 and the Tejon.
I hunt a lot in places that have lots of relics but where I cannot just dig everything... yards etc. One place in particular has loads of period stuff as well as tons of can slaw and pulltabs, mixed with an abundance of hot rocks and "you name its".
My concern about the Cortes is the fixed GB in disc mode. How can this be a good thing? Does the Cortes give all the ID info in All Metal? If it does then I guess it would be no problem. When I hunt in disc I always keep both the disc and notch all the way down on all my machines... well almost anyway. I run the T2's disc on 10 and the Tejon's disc 1 on foil and disc 2 on nickle. So I am not concerned with discing anything out, just with a good sensitive ID machine that will work well in bad soil and lot's of iron and trash and will pull the good stuff out without me digging everything.

Thanks for any hints or suggestions on the Cortes or on any replacement for the GT.

but I dont particularly care for running in AM all the time, so I got rid of my Cortes. Too much falsing in the Disc mode. One of those things where it just didnt work well for me. It was great in parks, with mild soil, but in a "wild" setting, it was too chattery for me.
