I currently have a minelab xterra 50 and a whites xlt spectrum but from all I have read I would do much better on jewlery on the beach with a soverign. I am hoping to spend alot more time on the beach this summer. thanks for any input.

some might argue with me and say to get a PI machine. The PI's do go deep, but to me a Sovereign GT w/a WOT coil goes deeper then I like to dig. There are a lot of coil options for the GT. I have been using one form of a sovereigns since 97, and I had PI machines, but I love the sovereigns more. Good luck with your decision.

You Can't Get It Wet! If you are going to hunt the dry sand then eventually you will hunt the wet sand and that means that eventually your detector is going to get wet so why not just get an Excalibur and be done with it.

Just My Thoughts On the Matter,

It is almost equal to the Soviergn and will find the same amount of loot. If you plan on going in the water then better get a water machine instead of another dry land machine.

The Sov.is excellent on the wet sand.As others have said you just can't
let it get wet.If you can find one cheap,in good working order, and hip
mount it in a plastic bag, then you can hunt the wet sand and shallows at
low tide.Just wouldn't go into the water too far.But it would let you hunt that
wet zone where the single freq. machines won't run stable.Good luck on
your decision.HH Joe
