Hello everyone, I'm going to start metal detecting again after almost 20 years away from it. I still have my Fisher CZ-5 and it is what I'm going to use to start with. If anyone reads this post please get back to me as I would like information about your club and about people that are free to enjoy the hobby week days as well as weekends. Hope to hear from you.
Right now I have Mondays and weekends off and would be pleased to get out with you for some hunting. I have two Fisher Detectors now and sold one a few years back. Although not my main hunting brand now I am familiar Fishers. We have had members from Springfield to Wyoming and even two from Wisconsin. As you can see from an earlier post, we get around and 100 miles is not our limit to travel. We have a find of the month contest and find of the year also. Usually have many get togethers and up to four club sponsored hunts a year. I look forward to seeing you. Meetings are last Wednesday of the month making our next on November 25, 6:30pm at the Peoria North Branch Library behind Menards on Allen Road in Peoria.
Thanks for the replies. I will be at the November meeting on the 18th, is 6:30PM the right time? A few months ago I went to the library on Lake, must have been the wrong one. I'm looking forward to meeting the group and hunting with you. It has been a long time and I have so much to relearn. I've never hunted in areas with grass so I don't have tools to recover in grass and only know what I have seen on youtube. All of my past hunting was in Arizona where the ground was mostly rock hard and we used picks to recover our targets. I'm an older man (67) but still able to learn new tricks.
Steve 1825 it wlll be nice to go out with you. You can contact me and let me know a little ahead of time if possible.
We are looking forward to meeting you Larry, many of us start showing up at 6PM so come early to chat some. Sorry you showed up at Lakeview library, that is some old information that needs be updated. As far as a digger goes, make sure you get one made for metal detecting, the cheaper garden variety just don't last very long. One of the club members might even have an extra one or two
Again thanks for all the replies. I'm always early for meeting people and for meeting, just don't like anyone having to wait for me. Like I said in an earlier post I don't have digging tools for the conditions around here, I hope people can help me with a selection. I have a lot to relearn and am always more that willing to listen to advice and sugestions. Looking forward to meeting all that show up at the meeting.
