Thinking about getting a underwater detector

Hi, I was wondering if there was a inexpensive underwater metal detector out there that anyone knows about could tell me. I live right on the OHIO river but I don't know if I really want to go in there LOL. I don't really know where any lakes or ponds are around here and that is why I want something inexpensive but still does the job. It doesn't have to go to 200FT but will detect in the water. I have an ACE250 which isn't water proof, and a Minelab EXP II and that isnt' water proof either. But I do want a detector that wont break or get screwed up by salt or fresh water.

So any suggestions?

Bag the ACE250 and work the shallows. Do not under any circumstances raise the coil above the level of the control housing or the water will run down the inside of the shaft and soak the control housing. PPFFFTTT! Bye Bye ACE250. The Tesoro Tiger Shark would be a good underwater detector if you are hunting mainly freshwater, it's reasonably inexpensive for an underwater detector but it's not that great in salt water.

Hi Lori; A used Whites BeachMaster ID can do the job as well.You can get one for about $200 - $300 here in the Forum OK.
