Thinking about buying a sov. Should I buy an sov.,xs,or,pro, Elite, GT . Whats the differance.

Barry W a meter is a good thing to have in the event you want to confirm what you are hearing, just another tool that helps along the way! Check out the following forum for some good comparisons of SOV's etc.

H.H. :)

Anyone of the ones you mention will do well for you. There is some slight differences like the XS had a plug in battery, the XS2 had a drop in battery, the XS2a had a toggle switch for single tone if you wanted it, the Elite has a better battery set up and a freq shift toggle(noise cancel), but the controls they moved too and not in a good areas. On the GT they put the control back where they were suppose to and added a silent search toggle and can turn off the iron mask and can ground traq for those that like to run all metal.
To me the meters are very important and I like the 180 meter to see the numbers on the close target, means the difference in digging trash or treasure on the close tones.
If you are looking for use than any one will do OK for you and the price is what will be the deciding factor, but if you are going new or close to new the GT is my pick.
