Pop can at 3 ft +/- but I only kept digging out of stubborness and the possibility that it might be a heavily encrusted cannonball. They hit pretty hightoned and raspy.

I bought mine from Ron's Metal Detector's in Biloxi,Miss and got a Good Price with an Extended Warranty..

I also bought some additional accessories..
I bought my Excaliber with the 8 inch coil to save a little of the swinging weight and this machine loves small targets.I have the straight shaaft for use in the water and just converted it over to a hip mount for sand and shallow surf, should be able to detect for 6- 8 hours easily.
