Found this on Saturday at an old (build 1812) estate close to home. Looks like it may be a button. The front has a buffalo and appears to have the words "United States" (very faint). The back of it has a small piece of copper attached to it. The estate was being used for weddings up until 1998, so I'm not sure if it's even old. Can anyone help identify this?
This is the first time that I've posted pictures, so I'm hoping it worked.
I compared it to one of my Buffalo's and it's the same size/shape, the buffalo design is the same, and the words appear is the same position. It's definity designed after the Buffalo nickle, but it is not a modifed one. Different type of metal and the edges are starting to seperate from the blank underneath.
