Think I'm gonna like this Outlaw

Traded for an Outlaw and took it out for the first time today. I didn't have much time in between burning brush and taking the gardens down, so I headed to a park near home that is fairly old but is absolutely trashed out since they hold a carnival there every year. I've been reading a lot of posts by Kaolinwasher, Tabman, and others with lots of experience with this unit, so nothing here is very original. Just my two farthings.

My initial impressions of the Outlaw:
  • Ground balancing easy and stable
  • Coin, pulltab, zinc penny, and can slaw sigals sounded "Tesoro-like" and familiar for the most part.
  • Pretty good depth--noticeably better than my 3rd gen Bandido, anyway
  • The 5.75" concentric coil really helped in areas that were especially trashy
I'm looking forward to getting to know this detector better. I love learning from you guys, so keep up the good posts.

I plan to hit an old resort later on this week, so I'll post findings then.

I cant help at all. I don't have an Outlaw. But, it sounds lke you are having fun...KEN

If I keep reading happy Outlaw posts, I may have to peddle some of my arsenal and pick up one myself

Kopok working the Outlaw with 5.75 inch coil slow and easy in the trashy grass areas next to curbs where car doors open onto sure is rewarding.

tabman

Just love the three different coils, i'm constantly changing for the different kinds of hunts and this machine ROCKS!! I like the way gold fazes out before the pull tab does, so you can keep turning the disc knob and get a better idea of the difference of the two.

I dig most everything above foil anyway but this Outlaw has become my favorite.

my take from this hunt just clad and two weats i bought a gamma 6000 got it friday traded my outlaw for the v so i had the two md out today i would find a target and go get the other md so spent a lot of time compaireing the two had a ball hear is my finds

Spent some more time with the Outlaw today and found a buck or so worth of clad and one heart-stopper. It turned out to be phony but it's the size of a half dime. There oughta be a law against these things... :)
