Well, after a long winter and tired of air testing my new MXT Pro I was finally able to take it out on its maiden voyage today. I traded my trusty CZ3D for the MXT Pro. I really wasn't sure if I had made the right choice. Well after today's 2 hr hunt I think I made a good choice. I didn't pass my coil over any silver but i did pull 4 Wheaties at honest depths of 8 inches. Audio was nice and soft and the VDI's locked on. I just feel real comfortable with this machine. I was able to run the gain at +2 with just a slight threshold hum. The machine was NOT chatty at all. Just the occasional background noise. I did have a few signals that did repeat but had no VDI that pp at 10 inches. I did not dig them but will go back once I get more time on the machine. One thing I did find out is the MXT Pro and Garrett pin pointers definitely don't like each other! Lots of cross chatter. I definitely was a little worried that I would lose in the depth department from a CZ3D to the MXT Pro. That worry was put to rest. The MXT can definitely run even with the CZ. Forgot to mention I am running the D2 coil on the MXT. If someone has a 5.3" eclipse that they would like to trade for the stock 950 coil let me know. It is in mint shape. Need to add one to my arsenal. All in all I think the MXT Pro is a keeper!
