[attachment 134770 DSCF4190.JPG] The dime in front of hand i think is sliver came out of ground clean and shiny like i was told. Some other coins in pile a couple look like foreign coins. The pin next to hand says honor society about time i got in.Got enough to go get ice cream hope they will take the pile kind of dirty.I saved the dime up front till my brother in law Tim Dude checks it out for me to make sure it sliver.Well post later heading out to get ice cream.

The dime in front of the hand is a 2009 and is not silver, but the 1923 mercury dime IS. The Barber quarter is silver as well. You will have to get another picture for us of your (foreign) coins so we can help you ID them Fred. Congratulations on your great finds. Dimes, Quarters, and halves 1964 and earlier are silver and some Kennedy half's up to 1969 are 40% silver.

I guess Miss Liberty is facing the wrong way, it must be a V nickel.

The manger was there when i walked up to counter and ordered a ice cream cone .when i handed him that pile of dirty coins he looked kind of angry probably thought i was trying to cheat him then he started counting it and he started smiling i guess there was enough in change, because he gave me this super duper Hugh ice cream cone and said thanks come again. Now that is mine kind of service.

No, not kidding Fred, but I just realized the "Barber quarter" is really a V nickel, Miss Liberty is facing the wrong way to be a quarter. Liberty head nickels, or more commonly called V nickels were made from 1883 to 1912.

I'm starting to think you are pulling our leg now..............
