Think I Found My 1st Civil War Bullet...?!

Just really got into metal detecting about a month ago. After finding more junk than I ever thought possible to be in the ground, this was a welcome sight...
Found it in the woods near my place in Falling Waters, WV. I'm about 1 1/2 miles away from the the Potomac River that separates Falling Waters from Williamsport, MD...
Any information on this bullet would be appreciated, as I have very little knowledge on distinguishing the different types...Thanks!

Congratulations, I think we all remember our first bullet :biggrin:

There is a good site for looking up your bullets at the top of the posts....... Links to interesting sites........ lots of info there.

Nice piece of history you found. Just think the last person to touch that bullet you found was a civil war soldier. Congratulations! HH :minelab::fisher::teknetics:

Thanks...Knowing that one of our soldiers put this to use in such a historic war just amazes me beyond words...I'll definitely be holding onto this little piece of history for the rest of my days... :)

Definitely! Wasn't able to get back there today, but will be out there 1st thing tomorrow...!
 
CCH told me to go back to where I found my first sharps and go slow and I should find more, well I listened and have found about 100 more. Great first bullet, I hope you have many more to come.
