Think about an F75

I am thinking about getting an F75 but would really like to know if its much better than a MXT, I had a mxt in the past and liked it alot but if this f75 gets better depth and is all around a better unit I want it. I also would like to know where I can purchase a new one with all the upgrades at the best price and free shipping and also a coil cover. Thanks for any advise on this matter.

Hey Tenn.

I mainly use a Nautilus, but I have an F75 as a secondary unit or when the iron gets heavy. My girlfriend uses the MXT and I've used it for several hours as well.

I like the MXT's construction. Seems more sturdy than the 75 but then the 75 won't wear you out quite as badly through the day. I'd give this point to White's, though, simply thining back on the places I go into. It can get pretty brutal in the brush.

As far as performance goes, I like the F75. It has the best disc on the market, IMO, and I've used many. It has more of a selection for relic IDs (although it's in numbers only) whereas the White's has button, bullet, buckle only. And I believe depth with standard coils goes to Fisher. Add on a 300 coil as we have done at extra cost and you have comparable depth.

At the end of the day, the Fisher's grunting (iron signals) may get annoying but I can live with it. Some can't.

Batt life is about the same on both -- 30 hours.

Both are super machines and I really don't have a dog in the fight. You pick the one you like and I'll be happy you're happy. I'm not a sales rep who wants you to go this way or that. But I like the Fisher, overall.

I think you'd be happy with either, given time to learn the Fisher or move right back into the MXT. But that'd be one advantage to Fisher. At your old sites, the Fisher's frequency will be new, finding those targets previously missed.

Best of luck.

Richard
