They ask some odd things at the VA now....

Went in for my annual at the VA a while back.

The assistant ask me if I had ever been traumatized. I said ,HUH? He replied, we have to ask these questions now, were you ever sexually traumatized when you were in the Marines?

"Well, I never saw a woman for three months in boot camp..... that was pretty traumatic"

Must be this gender neutral thing,, can't imagine this ever being a big problem in the armed forces for men.

First let me say that I do respect womens right to serve, but what a pain. I will never agree with seeing women in a combat role. I was on the USS Bowen FF-1079 while in the Navy and we didn't have any women onboard and Iam glad. The 'attack oiler' ships I saw in Norfolk, VA had women [I 'dated' one.], but glad she wasn't there when we put out to sea. It's bad enough trying to keep a ship battle ready without them all hassling some gal. She may just wish to serve in an honorable fashion, but thats not the kind of service a bunch of horny youngsters is after. It's best they are not even tempted. Maybe...I don't know. Maybe there could be a gender specific unit. Hell throw it into as much combat as the gals want [let em vote or something]. Just glad to have served at their sides, but not on my watch.
