I bought the Pro in January of this year. I read about it, asked questions, and one of the constants I kept reading about was how good the 5X8 coil was. Common phrase "Once you put it on, you won't take it off". I put it on last weekend in April, and it hasn't been off since. Now if I was gonna try to cover a large area, and especially if I was limited time wise, I would put the stock coil back on. I listened to some of the advice and got two sets of lower rods, so switching coils outta my car is easier. I have not come near your collection of finds, but did find my first two gold rings ever, with the 5X8 coil. I have read differing opinions, I try to argue with no one, but I'm convinced this coil is the go to coil for the Pro. Very nice finds there, Congrats. Do you live in an area where you gotta shut down for the winter? or do you have a chance to hunt year round? GL&HH Artie
You pretty well got something from each of the most sought after categories. You should enter that in the monthly finds contest and maybe win a Pro-Pointer.
Thanks guys for kind words. The ATP has been the perfect companion for the way I hunt trash laden sites. I've said many times that I always hit a productive site with two different detectors. It has really been fun and easy to learn the Pro. I'm in CT, so it takes some creativity to hunt when the ground freezes. Some wooded areas remain digable and there is the shore and sometimes even the sand will freeze when it's saturated with moisture and temps remain sub freezing for days. Those finds that these links go to were at a site that was a rowdy bar and a swimming area. Alcohol + water = lost goodies. I'll have to look into trying for that pointer. This was my month. Not shown are scads if wheats, uglier buffaloes and occasional clad coin. Digging 5 gold ring, 7 silver rings, 35 silver coins and other goodies shown is a month I will always remember. The gold ring with jade is a genuine antique (hallmark dates it 1887 - 1912) and my jeweler friend repaired the cracked shank and sized it for me. I hope you all get to experience something like this in a short span of days.

Wow, that's a really impressive array of finds, Bruce! Congratulations
You have a sweet spot and know how to work it!!
By the way, I found a silver Art Deco Ostby Barton ring a while back, and while researching it, discovered that Barton went down on the Titanic in 1913. His daughter, Helen, (I think) survived. Just an interesting bit of history that also seems to add considerably to the value based on some quick ebay research.
Thanks John. I a took your advice and made 2 picture collages of just ATPro finds and submitted it. If I was fortunate enough to receive a Propointer it would be exactly what I need. My stepson always gets mine and anything else I have for a "stand alone" is too cumbersome to use with gloves, especially in muddy conditions.
Thanks & HH
