having a hammer, saw, old apple crate, wagon wheels, and a dog! It did not really take very much to make us happy! We use to love making a fort or a tree house, making a slingshot, bow & arrow, kite, and goodness knows what else. We were happy without toys-are-us or computers. We use to love fishing along the old creek or stock tank, and then swimming afterwards. As I entered my teen years, happiness expanded into riding horses all day. I think the only real thing that I did not like was working in the hay fields loading and hauling hay. That was just plum hard work, back breaking work. I think that we grew up in the best of times.
