There's Nokta / Makro Detector excitement around Monte's place.

1st, .. One of my stolen detectors, my Nokta FORS Relic, is listed on e-bay with the extra 'Edge Blue' powder-coated rod that was also in one of the detector bags and I have sent a contact letter to the seller. I had six detectors stolen and so far have recovered my FORS CoRe and Bandido II µMAX in excellent condition, and a 3rd unit I did track down that had been badly damaged. I did get a lead on my 'Test' Nokta Impact, number '07' and hope to track that one down as well. I hope to recover my stolen Relic tomorrow when I make a drive to Western Oregon as it was also a special unit for me and made my 1853 Large Cent find at one of our gold mining era ghost towns.

The stolen FORS CoRe I recovered was my 'original' CoRe device and it continues to serve me quite well in every application I grab it for.

The other devices that were not stolen work great, too.

2nd ... But perhaps the greatest excitement is knowing that the Simplex + has received all the latest attention from the good folks in Turkey, and even though the lucky folks in the UK are getting the first shipment, those of us here in the good ol' USA should be able to get out and enjoy this new product very soon.

I'm not only excited about their desire to enter and attack the low-end / entry-level market so aggressively, but I'm excited by the interest that's out there among the many people I hear from. I get phone calls and e-mails from people who are newer to the hobby as well as many with ample time under their belts who are really aroused by all the marketing claims and product descriptions that are on the internet about what the Simplex+ might offer or potential performance afield against so many mid-pieced models recently.

Over half of the people I've discussed detectors with have been 'brand-loyal' to other detector makers and haven't caught on to why I rely heavily on Nokta / Makro detector models for so much of my detecting. They just haven't tried anything else or attempted to make a switch in brands .... HOWEVER, the Simplex+ has really caught their attention after reading of what it will offer and I'll bet that, most of them, will not only set out to discover this new $299 waterproof model but come to realize Nokta / Makro Detection Technologies is a serious competitors in this detector industry. I think it will be a great step in getting others to learn and know what many of us already enjoy about this manufacturer.

I'm curious how many here in the USA are going to be making the Simplex + their first model from Nokta / Makro? Get prepared because I think it will be exciting times for other hobbyists when they experience the soon-to-arrive Simplex+.

Just my thoughts of excitement! I already have a saltwater beach trip planned for October just to use this model.

Best of luck to you in getting your detector returned. Be careful and bring someone else with you if you can. I know of one person new to the hobby that will be making the Simplex+ his first detector. Before I found his ring in the lake he was considering getting one so that he could find it himself if it came to that. Now that he's seen the results, he's got one on pre-order. I've lent him my Racer 2 so that he can get used to what he's hearing and used to swinging a machine. He will of course have to relearn the tones but not the satisfaction.

My stolen Relic: I spoke with the vendor today and he pulled in from sale. I'll make the drive across state tomorrow to pick it up so all is well there.

Simplex+: I am sure it will be a good entry-level detector for the newcomer to0 this great sport. I'm also certain it will be a valued unit in my6 own detector group.

Ring: I'm glad you found the ring for him and gave him a good example of what we can really accomplish with these tools.

Racer 2: Also impressed you loaned his a well-respected Racer 2 to start learning and be better prepared for his new detector arrival.

While I have a few favorite detectors in my outfit, specimens of models that have served me well in the past as well as today, the Nokta / Makro detectors I own and enjoy outnumber any other brand. It would be one of the 'other' detectors I would loan out to someone because I'd more likely be putting my Nok/Mak units to work on just about any detecting jaunt I took. Matter-of-fact, I need to finish loading for my detecting jaunt I'm making tomorrow.

Glad to read you are getting your detector back. Have a safe trip and let us know how it went Monte.
I just preordered the Simplex+ at the intro price and I’m quite exited to see how it compares to the Nox and Deus.
Good luck!

Well, I'm getting the Racer 2 back from him today because I will be going to the Pound the Ground event up in northern NY and I'd like to have it as a spare to my Kruzer..
I only have those 2 detectors and I'm glad I was able to sell off the AT Pro when I got the Kruzer, or I would never have been able to get rid of it at a decent price.Yes the Racer 2 is well respected in my house. Both of these machines compliment each other very well. I may need to pick up their new pin-pointer and complete the set,Or win the Simplex when I'm out there somehow.

I plan on purchasing the Simplex myself. I’ve used the Racer 2, Impact, Multi Kruzer & the Multi Anfibio. Enjoyed using all of them. Contacted Nokta & was told US shipments are starting 2nd week of October. Can’t wait to get my hands on the Simplex.

I hope to be able to check out a Simplex at some point, but I really like my multi frequency Multi Kruzer, I think I'm set for a [little] while.

You can bet your next paycheck I'll be at the front of the line when they release their SMF detector (2020 hopefully!!)...

Fun times ahead, go Nok/Mak!!

I am satisfied with the Nokta CoRe and Relic for the bulk of my hunting needs, and especially glad to have my stolen Relic back in my detector outfit. They used it very little, left it looking great other than two cracks in the coil cover, and with the 5" DD coil mounted, I am assigning it "regular-duty" to always ride along and be in my vehicle with one or two other detectors. As for 'waterproof' detectors they are not a high priority on my list because I'm not close to a coast, don't swim so don't wade out in the freshwater beach areas, either. I have the Anfibio Multi in the den as I favored it over the Multi Kruzer for weight and balance, but I know the Simplex + is going to be just the pick to ride along with the Relic on a regular basis.

Just need a smaller-size coil for the Simplex +, like about a 7" size round coil, concentric preferred. Then the Relic and Simplex + will always be in the vehicle and my three "Relic Hunting Team" and three" Coin Hunting Team" are already grouped together and ready on my den wall for any dedicated outing. I've used different brands of Simultaneous M.F. detectors through the years, but overall have done better with my Single Frequency or Selectable S.F. models for the site challenges I mainly deal with. Still, knowing the terrific approach the good folks at Nokta / Makro take in design and development, I am also interested in a Simultaneous M.F. model when they are comfortable with what they will have to offer. I'm not a big believer that they are invincible like many seem to think, but at times and for some applications, some of the SMF's do work pretty well.

Just waiting for the Simplex + so it can join my Relic and I can hang the Racer 2 back on the den wall until I load up for a dedicated trip afield.

Colder fall weather is passing through and hinting that winter is soon to arrive here, so keep enjoying the more pleasant weather you have down your way and best of success on your next trip out.

Monte,
Looking forward to your report on the Simplex. I'm really glad you've managed to retrieve some of your stolen detectors and I hope to see you at the next WTOH.
Tom

Monte glad to hear you were able to recover some of your detectors, what a pain.

I generally agree with you on single frequency, but I have sites that a mult will work better due to alkali, or other funky ground minerals. We have some challenging ground to deal with in a lot of areas of California as well as a few of my sites in Nevada (mineral salts mostly). Right now I'm mainly using my EQ800 and MMK with great success. Relics in the thick of iron to salt water beach hunting, I'm covered . The last couple of years with these two detectors have been terrific, lots of great finds.
