There must be thousands of Minelab carrying cases rotting away in closets

Does anyone actually use these things? I rastled with it putting my Excal in and rastled with it coming out. Unless I take it apart, I won't bother using it any more. a blanket works much better.

What's wrong with them? I received one today and I have to say that not only does it look nice but it looks like it will function well too.

If anyone wants to get rid of their bags PM me and I will tell you where you can send them.

I hear ya...I sold mine the first week I had it.......detector dont fit unless you completely bust it down, A packing blanket is much more suitable to my needs ........

I guess that's one thing good about being short. I just put my detector in the bag with meter mounted on the handle and a twelve inch coil and it fits perfect. Even got a nice pocket on the outside for my headphones.

I never used to use it, but now I use one for my SE Pro and my F-75 and also have all my coils for the detector in them too. I do have to pull the SE apart and turn the coil and the F-75 I just pull it apart and leave the coil wire connected and it is easy to put back together. The reason is I like to leave my detectors in the trunk sometimes and this will keep them from getting banged up and not so dusty on those back road we drive. I have had my GT in one too, but I had a guy that wanted to buy the case so I sold it.

Well dont know if this will interest anyone or not but we find it real difficult to find any bag to carry the metal detectors in and riding motorcycles all the time a bag is pretty much a must.
We took our New Gt we got from Rick and cut off the v mount on the shaft mounted one on to the top of the handle and then mounted one on a piece of 3/4 inch sch 40 pipe about 3 inches long. Cut a grove in the pipe just about a 1/3 of the pipe so it made a clip effect and snapped the new V mount for the probe and meter on the shaft. NO rivets into the inside of the shaft that way ::)) Lets you slide the two shafts together much more, you can almost put the coil at the tip of the back shaft. The top v mount on top of the handle was a early design flaw to see the meter better before we got a probe under it to raise it up. so we use That V mount to keep a quater in in case we want to use it later in a update conversion. The quater is handy to adjust the meter and always where you can get to it without digging in your pockets.
Cutting the both top and bottom machine shafts off about 4 inches makes the GT a very very compact machine to carrie. Im 6 ft and it works plenty good I dont even use the last hole.
Lots of BS to get to the bag thing. Well the bag for the short short GT for the bike ::Take the std SE bag and cut it off just long enough to fit the new GT. Then remove the nice pocket and sew it on the inside so you can put stuff a little more compact and protected and you got a case that works ::)) Only one problem. You either got to be married to a real patient lady that can sew and create things or a real handy person yourself. ::))
Dont know about the rest but we have found compact equipment means we get to metal detect a lot more than we would otherwise and that is IMPORTANT !!
Good Luck
Grumpy

PS If you try any of this at home be sure 1 you check your cables will work if you have altered them before, 2 you cut off the right end of the bag so you dont have to put in a complete new zipper. 3 Measure 3 times and only cut off once ::)) Not my way but wifes ::))

I use a Snowboard carry bag, holds two sovs and pocket on outside for headphones also two shoulder straps to carry on your back rucksack style ( great for bikers)
