There is not much difference and why i say it is heavy

heavy to me that is.

the 9x12 sailed in today, i removed stock and added it.

now i did some weight differences just for your review.

over 15 years i have swung just a shaft and coil at the end.........beach hunting...........had a f75.......etrac......expII and now arrives the AtPro.........comes in at around 4 pounds........i have to switch arms many times during a 3 or 4 hour spin........to me 1 and 2 lbs. makes a big difference.

pics will be in random order, but u will be able to get a grip on what i am saying............i also did a little test, ground level and i find that in pro mode set in custom, many of my small gold targets sound very much different that they do in zero mode...............Zero mode being the best solid sound

Max, did you get that 9" x 12" concentric coil for gold & silver chains? I saw your request the other day for a comparison with chains using the stock coil & 9" x 12"......I have no gold chains left, as I cashed in on all my gold just before christmas, so I couldn't do it. I am guessing the concentric coil will do best, but only in more neutral ground, which thankfully is what I have below the 2 feet of snow which I have to contend with. Good luck with your new coil. I am looking forward to seeing your results. :)

john

i had a low end tesoro compadre with small concentric........it was a killer on small coil.......could hear things my excal cound not.

maybe.......2004 whenever the fmadc was here...........buddy bought a tejon............o m g what that baby could hear...........as far as small gold chains go.......my only reason for the 9x12 concentric.

the pic of the bottom of both.............

the stock..........is gray and kinda gray plain looking / ruff, but the new 9x12...............o m g.............shinny and slick ...........seems to be epoxy filled like the sef's or newer minelabs.........i like it.

I'm going to call you AT PRO MAX from now no. LOL You got to let us know how the new coil works. I did'n get to try my Pro out yet and there calling for big down pours tomorrow. Hope I can get out at work Friday, if not for sure saturday. I can't wait!!! keep us posted Max.

I am interested in seeing what you will dig with the larger concentric coil.

some have rotated the coil 180 degrees [ on coils that aren't mounted in the centre] this changes the ergonomics and sometimes makes the machine seem lighter to sweep. if this helps let us know.

Hey Grave....sounds like that 9x12 coil has the older type epoxy in it, which is much heavier than the new stuff. I was gonna replace my 9.5" coil for my 2500 hoping it has the new epoxy to lighten the load. The new 8.5x11 DD on my 2500 has made it very much lighter to swing and is a pleasure....
