There are some great people on these forums

I have some very physical limitations due to an accident back in '89. Due to my condition I am unable to do anything that requires fine motor skills. There have been a few times something came up and a few forum members have responded in kindness to assist me in making a modification or accessory when needed. I always offer to pay for materials, labor, and shipping but sometimes these aren't accepted. My latest ordeal has been the snorkel wire for the Deus, I've been getting suggestions on how members make them and when I mention it being above my abilities, a couple members have offered to make one for me. As I write this, one is currently being shipped for me made by a findmall forum member.

I completely agree with you dirtangler. I even say, "thank you" to the person that is carrying out this act of kindness towards you. There are still some wonderful people in this world and this act solidifies my belief. I would like to share one of my own experiences here on findmall:

At one point in time I was in between detectors and had nothing to use. Then one member here on findmall (whom I never even physically met in person or talked to on the telephone) offered to send me their detector to use. I was blown away by their generosity, trust and faith to send a $600.00 detector to me to use. I kept that machine in pristine condition and babied that detector while it was on loan to me. Now safely back in the arms of the owner, they were shocked at how clean I kept the machine. I feel that was the least I could do for loaning their "baby" to me.

HH Dirtangler and wish you the best in the field - Jim

Earthlypotluck, yes I've been fortunate enough to have 2 friends that are in my club let me borrow their detectors to try to make sure I could handle them and there operations before investing in that machine. Currently I use a Deus, very pricey machine. A buddy let me borrow his for a week to try. After 3 days I ordered one and for me and my physical limitations, it's a great machine. Prior to purchasing the Deus another club member let me borrow his F75 Ltd.. I also purchased one of them but quickly found out that, though it is a very good machine, it wasn't for me due to its chatty nature. A guy was supposed to send me a VX3 to try when I was interested in them but he backed out but in general I think members in this hobby that take it seriously and are in it for the right reason, are a great bunch of people who will help if they can.

Yes it is, some of the best!! Hank
